The Walker Art Center empowers people to experience the transformative possibilities of the art and ideas of our time and to imagine the world in new ways.

The Walker Art Center is a renowned multidisciplinary arts institution that presents, collects, and supports the creation of groundbreaking work across the visual and performing arts, moving image, and design. Guided by the belief that art has the power to bring joy and solace and the ability to unite people through dialogue and shared experiences, the Walker engages communities through a dynamic array of exhibitions, performances, events, and initiatives.

Highlights

Sculpture Garden
The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is free, open 365 days per year, and features sculptures drawn entirely from the Walker's permanent collection.

Free First Saturdays
Admission is free the first Saturday of every month from 10AM to 5PM.

Free Thursday Night
Gallery admission is free from 5 to 9PM every Thursday night.

Sensory Friendly Sundays
A monthly event designed for kids, teens, and adults with sensory processing differences, autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities. From 8 am to 11 am on the second Sunday of the month, the galleries will be closed to the general public, allowing visitors to enjoy the museum in a calm environment with accommodations such as quiet spaces, fidgets, and sunglasses available.
