About
The MAC has been a cornerstone of the arts community in the Grand Rapids area for nearly six decades. Through our Exhibition program we present between 12-18 exhibits in our downtown galleries each year and manage a satellite gallery at the Reif Center for Performing Arts. Our Education program is focused on learning opportunities for youth and adults in subject matter from painting and ceramics to birch bark weaving and 3D modeling. MAC also partners with community organizations and local schools to provide off-site art classes and artist residencies. Our Artist Services program includes our consignment-based Art Shop with work by over 90 regional artists, one-on-one consulting services for artists, and a 6-month studio residency program in partnership with the City of Grand Rapids. The Giinawind Creative Space creates a dedicated space for Native art and artists in the Grand Rapids community. As a border town to the Leech Lake Nation we have especially focused on exhibiting work by Ojibwe artists.
